The MadNergal Battle Calculator is based upon a calculator originally coded by James Lin (MaoTseTung).
The original appears to no longer be available on the web, although we used to link to it. We'll happily
add that link back if anybody should come across it.
The calculator has undergone significant code updates, added features, GUI enhancements and Bug fixes
since it came into my hands.

A few notes on usage:
1) 2 BUG FIXES 06/15/2004
- Karash Backwards spell was only fighting 4 rounds instead of 5. (Thanks BlckJck and Bluesky for catching this one!)
- Garanapult no longer awards extra Fury or Form Experience.
2) Correct Lesser types are now automatically determined. Also, Glow upgrades
have been added, which were lacking in the original
3)FIXED!! Fury gained from fighting against pseudoforms are currently counted
in the calculator for simplicity's sake. They do not actually count
in Evernight.
Example: You have 100 glows fighting against 50 mudwretch and the
defender casts garanapult. The results indicated you gain 89 fury.
You actually only gain 50 fury.
4) A deterministic battle with identical forces will cause an error
(there's no reason you should be doing this anyway). A simulation
will not give you this problem.
5) The Raw Knuckle spell is calculated as if it ALWAYS SUCCEEDS. Since when it fails it
wipes out all of your forces and you lose, it is really only useful to determine how many forces
you need to have present in order to win in the unlikely event that the spell actually succeeds.
Therefore, when you use Raw Knuckle in a statistical battle, the odds of winning displayed
are the odds of winning IF THE SPELL SUCCEEDS. In order to determine your OVERALL odds of winning, it is
necessary to reduce the calculated odds by 80%. (Multiply your calculated result by 0.20)
6) The speed at which statistical battles will be calculated is dependant on several
factors:
1. The "scope" of the battle. (Large battles can be very long indeed)
2. The speed of your machine. (The javascript runs client-side)
So, keep this in mind when you run in statistical mode. If the battle is long
It may seem as though the application has locked-up. This is probably not the
case, just be patient.
