"I am here. I have read your several times through. Some sections
I have read 6 or more times. The first few weeks your guide was my most
precious resource. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the rest of
us. I am in your debt until the day I might be able to return the favor
by adding to the wisdom entombed here."

A bit of History:
This
"book", as you may have guessed, was originally created by Zolton,
one of the Evernight greats (you can find out more about him in the immortal
champions page). He created his site to be a guide for new players as he understood
better than anyone that a game is only as fun as who you play it with, and the
future lies in each new coming generation. Sadly, he has moved out of the Evernight world
but his legacy lives on in his tome.

Zolton's final words of wisdom...
Greetings:
Well, it is time for me to move on. After about three years of playing this game, the time has come to say goodbye.
I would like to thank Lord Foul, Lao Tzu, Phiasc0, and all of the other developers at VR1 for allowing me to be a part of the evolution of this game. I would also like to congratulate them on their management of the game; I've been through a variety of beta-tests and MMO worlds, and this has been the best-managed by far.
I also bid a fond farewell to all the players, too numerous to mention, whom I have fought with and against over the years. The heart of an MMO game is its players, and this has always been one of Evernight's assets. Though many are gone now, few are forgotten.
But mostly, I would like to take this opportunity to lay a charge on those of you who will remain. Back in the early days, when there were fewer than a hundred people actively playing in the game world, the game was still very much taking shape. One of the contributions made by a number of players, not only myself, was in actively working to foster an environment where new players were made to feel welcome--were taught rather than taunted--and where disagreements could happen in civilized discourse rather than flame wars.
Far too many online environments degenerate into ego contests and pits of bile. In many places, it is the most ruthless, most vile, or most vulgar voice that holds sway. That is not true in Evernight; in part, this is because of the work of the VR1 admins, but it is also part of a tradition of players going back to those early days, when we few made the effort to rise above pettiness and disagree with each other and air our complaints as rational adults rather than petulant children.
This is the charge I lay on you: to continue this legacy, to uphold the value of sportsmanship regardless of your notion of "honor" or "NAP", to treat new players first as players, worthy of your respect, and to help them learn the game so that they--and the game--will prosper, to not treat each other as simply words on the screen but to recognize that there are people, real people, out there that you are playing with, to remember that this is a game, first and foremost, and that winning is only part of the experience.
One of the greatest strengths of this game is its community. This is why I have stayed here for a year, even though I have not played in a single game, to help that community make this transition. Now it is in your hands. Take care of it and each other.
I am off to greener fields and pastures new. Perhaps I will see you there.
