Generations
The Entity that is EverNight
by The Mad Scot
I am the generations of Evernight.
I am a son and a grandson.
I am a father and a grandfather.
I am the progeny of knights and kings.
I am the sire of the fearless and the indomitable.
I am the sister of bloody shadows and cruel ambitions,
And I may yet give birth to holy war and conquering zeal.
I am the generations of Evernight.
Born and reborn anew to walk a darkened plain.
I relearn its mysteries with each lifetime, with each death-throw
A new portal is opened and I am beckoned forward and I must comply.
I walk this bloody path to all its conclusions only to find there is no answer,
Only the unremitted questing for victory amid the macabre camaraderie of destruction.
I sing the pedigree of my family; ours is a lineage of ignominious, glorious death.
I am the generations of Evernight.
Dead and dying I look up to see the boundless mystic heavens.
I have knowledge of all things and no tomb can house my soul.
Striding with graceful nonchalance amid the toiling machines of war,
I am a creature of light and honor, a student of mercy and truth.
The halls of the ancients ring with laughter as they witness the peaceful accord.
I pay silent homage to the ubiquitous spectacle of conflict and reconciliation.
I am the generations of Evernight...
